FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Who is Dynic USA Corporation?

Dynic Corporation is a multination company with headquarters in Japan. It has stock traded on the Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto stock exchanges. Dynic Corporation has over 2,500 employees worldwide and plant locations in China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Dynic USA was established as a subsidiary of Dynic Corporation to better serve the North and South American markets, Australia, and New Zealand. Located in Hillsboro, Oregon, Dynic USA began as manufacturing center for impact printer ribbons, but has since expanded to include the manufacturing and marketing of coated fabrics and films used in the thermal transfer printing process. Dynic USA also has a distribution center located in Atlanta, Georgia.

2. How long has Dynic USA been in business?
Dynic Corporation was founded in 1919 and Dynic USA was established in 1988.

3. Is Dynic USA Corporation ISO certified?
Yes! Dynic USA Corporation has been awarded the ISO 9002 Certificate of Registration from SGS International Certifications Services, Inc. In February 2003, we became ISO 9001:2000 registered. Dynic USA is one of only a few thermal transfer ribbon manufacturers to receive ISO certification of any sort, and one of the leaders in moving to the new ISO standard. ISO is only part of Dynic's commitment to excellence and better service to its customers.

4. What products are manufactured by Dynic Corporation?
Dynic Corporation has five different product groups. They are Book Binding Materials, Print Media Supplies, Industrial Materials, Non-Woven Fabric Products, and Interlinings. Examples from each product group are listed below.

- Book Binding Cloths for encyclopedias, text books, general books, stationery products, novelty items, bags, backpacks, and purses made from simulated leather.

- Print Media Supplies includes products for the AIDC (automatic identification and data collection market) such as thermal transfer ribbons and labels. It also includes impact printer ribbons, offset printing film, materials for full color inkjet printing, magnetic bank books, and systems for printing business cards and magnetic cards. Dynic also recycles toner cartridges for laser printers.

- Industrial Materials such as tarpaulin waterproof products used in floors, tents, domes, and geotextiles used in civil engineering.

- Non-Woven Fabric Products encompasses many types of air filters, water purifiers, car head and trunk liners.

- Interlinings are fusible interlinings for the apparel industry, permanent care labels, and a permanent creasing system.

5. What is the difference between wax, wax-resin, and resin thermal transfer ribbons?
Wax ribbons usually have a high wax content to them and are considered a low-end product. The images printed with a wax ribbon tend to be acceptable for applications where there is little or no contact with the printed image. These ribbons are usually the least expensive and the least durable.

Wax-resin ribbons contain a mix of wax and resinous materials and are considered the middle range of ribbons. These “premium” ribbons provide better durability than wax ribbons in instances where repeated contact with the printed image is likely to occur.

Resin ribbons are the “super premium” or high end of the ribbon line. These ribbons have the highest percentage of resinous material, which means they can provide excellent durability as well as superior resistance to repeated physical contact and harsh chemicals and cleaning agents.

6. Will Dynic USA make and provide custom leaders?
Yes, provided the volumes ordered are sufficient.

7. Will Dynic USA’s Sirius® brand of ribbons shorten the life of the print head in our printer?
No, absolutely not. Sirius® ribbons have the best backcoat in the business to protect your print head. And most Dynic ribbons use lower temperatures than the competitors' ribbons, providing even further protection.

8. Do Sirius® ribbons have a print head cleaner leader strip attached?
No, because a great quality backcoat and regular maintenance is all that is needed to protect your print head. Your printer manufacturer will recommend the correct cleaning products and procedures to use on your printer. The goal of the ribbon is simply to provide the best printed image without harming your print head.

9. Why are Dynic’s ribbons better than the competition’s?
Our wax ribbons print at lower temperatures and higher speeds than the competition’s, while still maintaining smudge resistance and delivering high quality printing. Our wax-resin ribbons also provide smudge and smear resistance; and both our wax and wax-resin ribbons are made in the US, in our plant in Hillsboro, Oregon. Manufacturing in the US stabilizes our prices, giving you -- the customer -- a secure product source at a price not tied to international currency fluctuations. Dynic products are of the best quality, due to our continued commitment to meeting ISO quality standards. You’ll get the same product, every time, on time, and as requested. And our full testing lab and customer service representatives are there to back the products and our customers up.

10. On what types of printers can I use Dynic ribbons?
Avery Dennison, C. Itoh, Cognitive Solutions, Datamax, Eltron, Intermec, Printronix, RJS, Sato, TEC, Zebra, Bellmark, Novexx, Astro-Med, Markem SmartDates, Monarch/Paxar, Norwood, and VideoJet, among others.

11. Will Dynic USA provide product samples?
Our sales and customer service staff have product data sheets with print samples available upon request. Sample rolls of our products are also available by clicking here james@dynic.com or calling us at 1-800-326-1249.

12. Will Dynic USA do testing for me to ensure their ribbons will work in my specific application?
Yes, definitely. We have a full testing laboratory with printers, labels, and ribbons available for testing customer specific applications. Contact us today if you have a specific testing need. mindy@dynic.com

13. How can my company arrange to be a distributor for Dynic USA products?
The first step is to contact the correct sales manager for your area (see our Contact Us page). Send them an email or give them a call, and you’re on your way. It’s that easy.

14. Will Dynic USA make sales calls on our customers with us?
If you ask us to. Please contact the sales manager for your area to work out the details. However, we will not contact your customers directly without your permission. It’s a thing we call integrity, and it’s a large part of how we do business.

15. How do I know that you won’t sell to my customers directly?
Dynic USA has been in the TTR business for many years, without direct selling. We lack the desire and the manpower needed to sell to end-users. We provide competitive pricing, sales leads, and research to our distributors, so that they may sell our product (bundled with whatever other products they sell) and still show a profit. It’s a win-win situation for all.

16. Does Dynic USA provide generic brochures and marketing pieces that we can use?
Yes we do. We can provide artwork, brochures, research, testing, and links to our web site for our distributors. Click here to find out how.

17. What are the requirements for partner marketing efforts with Dynic USA?
Supporting our customers to help them succeed, is important to us. We have set aside part of our marketing budget each year for joint-marketing efforts with our customers. Click here to find out more.
